LP MICHAEL-CLAIRE THIS IS MICHAEL-CLAIRE (Available for the first time the never issued before recordings of one of the best kept secret of UK acoustic music: MICHAEL-CLAIRE. This duo was formed in late '68 by Englishman MICHAEL MILNER and Californian CLAIRE HART. Around May '69 they began playing the London Folk Clubs of the time (mainly The Troubadour and Les Cousins), causing immediately a stir. Spotted immediately by talents scouts like BRUCE DUNNET and journalists like KARL DALLAS, in the summer of the same year they began working on an album, which manager ASHLEY KOZAK hawked around to negotiate a deal that didn't happen for various reasons. Thanks to Claire's American links, Michael and his then wife toured the Usa in late '70 and early '71, even being so lucky to host the probably first TOM WAITS public performance in November 1970. While in the States, they recorded a few tracks (some old from the unissued lp and some new) at a friend's studio. And here they are, in nice shape too. There are only three covers, written by Ted Staack, Isaac Guillory and Rick Cunha, the rest is self-composed. Haunting and delicate songs that are too good to be left on a shelf. They began as a hard rock group in 1967, but soon after had a unique rock and roll dream. They were the first rock band to bring the drums, amps, and guitars into church for a live rock and roll worship service. In 1968, after having many services under their belt, they were discovered in New York City's Greenwich Village and dubbed "theo-rock" by the Village Voice. By 1969 they had signed with the leading record company's in the world, RCA. In 1970, after three years of persistent efforts they had gone where no other bands had been before. The Mind Garage had taken "the raw sounds in rock music" and offered it to God in the form of an Electric Liturgy. Playing in church after church, they cultivated an environment where rock could thrive, establishing in the process, Christian Rock, a completely new genre of music that has inspired untold millions worldwide. They paved the way for all the Contempory Christian Rock bands that followed, and can rightfully be called the first Christian Rock band. They came to a halt at 1970. This is a conceptual album with 10 tracks put together into 2 long suites, with some long instrumental and much ellaborated parts, and with Italian lyrics. LP SANDHY & MANDHY PARA CASTUKIS (To tell the story of Sandhy & Mandhy, we have to go back to 1967, when Alberto Infusino (Sandhy) and Alberto Vanasco (Mandhy) began their musical partnership in the beat band The New Free Men. Like many bands of that time, Los Shakers and Los Walkers, for example, the New Free Men played covers of songs by the Zombies, Animals, Kinks, Yardbirds, Doors, and so on, in clubs and at parties. Yet at the same time, Infusino and Vanasco started to play their own compositions, with a national touch to the music. At times introspective and acoustic, at others manic and ramshackle in the best way, its quite a discovery.
